Southern Miss Lady Eagle Cross Country Team Finishes in a Tie for Second


Cassandra Goodson leads team to a tie for second-place

STARKVILLE, Miss. -- The Southern Miss Lady Eagle cross country team placed three runners in the top 10 on their way to finishing in a tie for second at the MSU Short Course Invitational in Starkville, Miss.

 

Cassandra Goodson finished fifth in the 3K run with a time of 10:32.96, Alisha Edwards finished ninth with a time of 10:56.21 and Becca Rop was 10th with a time of 11:00.06.   Dijana Kojic finished 12th with a time of 11:12.36, Naomi Kiprotich was 14th with a time of 11:30.93, Rachel Nix was 15th with a time of 11:21.51 and rounding out the top seven runners was Karen Tankersley finished 19th with a time of 11:38.98.

 

Mississippi State captured the team title with 25 points, Alabama and Southern Miss scored 50 points apiece and Jacksonville State had 103.

 

Southern Miss returns to action Oct. 30 at the Conference USA Championship in Chicago, Ill.
