Southern Miss Lady Eagles Finish First at the Mississippi College Invitational
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss Lady Eagle cross country team finished first at the Mississippi College Invitational, Saturday morning, in Clinton, Miss.

Southern Miss captured the team title with 22 points, placing five of its seven runners in top 10. Millsaps College was second with 49 points, followed by West Alabama (84), Gordon College (85) and Mississippi College (117).

Senior Jessica Crump continued to pace the Lady Eagles, covering the 5K course in a time of 19:57.38, finishing first overall out of 42 runners. Junior Keri White finished third with a time of 20:23.42, with Alisha Edwards fifth with a time of 20:54.17, Lydia Chepkwony finished sixth with a time of 21:16.31, Tomeka Shaffer was seventh with a time of 21:29.33. Margarita Rivera (20) with a time of 22:36.34 and Erica Scharfenstein (22) with a time of 22:36.34

Southern Miss takes a week off before traveling to Auburn, Ala., for the Auburn Invitational, Oct. 19.
