Fourteen Schools Compete in 24th Annual Southern Miss Invitational
Lady Eagle Cross Country Team Hosts 24th Annual Southern Miss Invitational HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Fourteen schools will compete in the event, including defending champions Tulane who won both the men's and women's events. Other schools competing are Alcorn State, Centenary, Jackson State, Loyola (La.), Millsaps, Mississippi College, Mississippi Valley, Ole Miss, South Alabama, Southeastern Louisiana, Spring Hill, West Florida, and Southern Miss women. In last year's meet, the Green Wave men's team finished with 62 points, followed by Louisiana-Monroe (72 points), Southeastern Louisiana (73), Ole Miss (103), Mississippi College (106), South Alabama (163), Jackson State (170), UNO (194), Alcorn State (232), Nicholls State (251), Centenary (287) and Belhaven (336). The Tulane women won the event with 60 points, followed by UNO (66 points), UL-Monroe (114), Ole Miss (115), Southern Miss (116), Southeastern Louisiana (138), Jackson State (191), Millsaps (193), Alcorn State (198), Centenary (241) and Mississippi College (258). The women's race will cover a 5K course, beginning approximately 4:15 p.m., while the men's race will cover four miles and begin at 4:45 p.m. Results of the meet will be available at the www.SouthernMiss.com by approximately 7 p.m. SouthernMiss.com
