Cross Country Team Announces Roster Additions
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss Head Track and Field Coach Wayne Williams announced the addition of three cross country runners for the 2003 season, Cassandra Goodson of Chatsworth, Calif., Liz Palmer of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Rebecca Wiseman of Phoenix, Ariz.

Goodson was a four-year letterwinner at Chaminade College Prep for Coach Damitri Lagos. She was an all-conference selection for four years and named the most valuable performer in the conference her senior season. She posted a best time of 18:53 in the 5K. Goodson also lettered in track and field, posting times of 5:08 in the 1,600 meters and 2:22 in the 800 meters.

Palmer was a four-year letterwinner in cross country and track and field at Oak Grove High School for Coach June Songy. She posted a time of 20:00 in the 5K. She was the overall winner in the girls cross country state championship. Palmer was named all-district and all-state in cross country and track and field. She attended Pearl River Community College, where she played basketball for two years.

Wiseman was a four-year lettewinner in cross country and track and field at Monument Valley High School for Coach Greg Waybe. She posted times of 5:09 in the 1,600 meters and 11:13 in the 3,200 meters. She received all-district, all-conference and all-state recognition. She was named her team's most valuable performer.
