Southern Miss Cross Country Team Compete at the MSU Short Course

The Southern Miss women's cross country team finished the regular season on Friday afternoon with a second-place finish at the MSU Short Course with 41 points.

Southern Miss' top finisher was senior Naomi Kiprotich who placed fifth overall in 10:38.92. Brittany Wood finished sixth with a time of 10:41.92.

Rounding out the rest of the Lady Eagle team included Alisha Edwards ninth with a time of 11:02.42, Ronna Sandoval (11:23.56, 11th), Lila Balamane (11:39.40, 12th) and Karen Tankersley (11:44.59).

MSU's Zita Magloire broke the 3K course record en route to her win with a time of 10:05.98. The Bulldogs won the meet with 19 points.

Southern Miss returns to competition at the 2005 Conference USA Championship in Orlando, Fla., Oct. 29.
