Southern Miss Cross Country Team Finishes Third at the Great American Cross Country Festival

HOOVER, Ala. -- - The Southern Miss women's cross country team finished third at the Great American Cross Country Festival on Saturday. Zuna Portillo was the Golden Eagles' top finisher, covering the 5K with a time of 20:09.30 to finish ninth. Kelley Rooney finished 11th with a time of 20:36.70, followed by Ronna Sandoval with a time of 21:19.00 for 17th, Parris Hodges ran a time of 21:26.70 to finish 18 and Jemarie Alcordo ran a time of 21:47.80 to finish 20 . Rounding out the remaining runners included Stephanie Jones-DuBose with a time of 22:07.20 and Gerrelaine Alcordo with a time of 23:15.60. Southern Miss returns to action on Oct. 20, when the team competes in the O-Invitational hosted by Troy.
