AUBURN, Ala. -- - The Lady Eagle cross country team finished 18 at the Auburn Invitational Saturday.

Freshman Zuna Portillo (Antioch, Calif.) was the top finisher for the Golden Eagles, finishing 47 with a time of 18:14.86 over the 5K course. Ronna Sandoval (Picayune, Miss) ran a time of 20:18.86, finishing 101, followed by Jemarie Alcordo (San Diego, Calif.) who ran a time of 20:21.70 and finished 104. Kelley Rooney (Fair Oaks, Calif.) ran a time of 21:02.54 and finished 115, Gerrelaine Alcordo (San Diego, Calif.) finished 119 with a time of 21:18.70; Stephanie Jones-DuBose (Nashville, Tenn.) ran a time of 21:24.79 to finish 123. Rounding out the Southern Miss finishes included LeSheika Dinkins (Memphis), who ran a time of 21:57.12 to finish 131 and Cheris Fletcher who ran a time 22:35.37.

Southern Miss returns to competition Oct. 13, in the Great American Cross Country Festival in Hoover, Ala.
