Southern Miss Loses to South Florida In Three

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss volleyball team lost to Conference USA

co-leader South Florida in three straight games, Friday night, 15-2, 15-5, 15-6. The loss

dropped the Lady Eagles to 10-17 on the season and 2-11 in C-USA while USF won its 14

consecutive match and improved to 21-4 and 12-1.

All nine Lady Eagles recorded at least one kill, led by Kendall Reid-Webster who had five.

Michelle Collier led the Bulls with nine kills.

The Bulls took control early in game one and jumped out to a 7-0 lead. Southern Miss added

to its woes, hitting a -.130 while the USF had nine kills, no hitting errors and hit .474. The

Bulls took game one, 15-2.

USF ran off four straight points to start the second game before the Eagles got on the board.

The Bulls continued to build on that lead and took game two, 15-5.

Both teams traded points to start game three. With the game tied at 5-5, South Florida ran off

five straight points to take a 10-5 lead. The Eagles scored one more time and South Florida

scored the next five points for a 15-6 win.

Southern Miss will close out their home schedule Saturday night against Houston. First serve

is set for 7 p.m.
