Lady Eagle Volleyball Team Closes Out Home Schedule With Loss

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (Nov. 4) - The Southern Miss volleyball closed its home portion of its

schedule with a loss to

Houston Nov. 4 in three games, 15-3, 15-1, 15-11 and dropped to 10-18 and 2-12 in C-USA. Houston bounced

back

after a loss to Tulane improved to 19-6 and 11-3.

Kelly Tribble led Southern Miss with eight kills while Kendall Reid-Webster had 10 digs. Bobbi Stewart and

Jane Ann Karasek led Houston with 12 and 11 kills, respectively. Donna Sellen led the Cougars with 11 digs.

Houston opened game one with eight straight points. The Lady Eagles scored the next three points before

Houston ran off seven straight to win game one, 15-3.

Southern Miss scored the first point of game one before Houston took control and scored the next 15 points.

The Cougars had 10 kills and took advantage of six Lady Eagle hitting errors to win game two, 15-1.

Houston popped out to a 4-0 lead early. After a Southern Miss timeout, the Lady Eagles went to work and

scored the next two points. Houston answered with six straight points. Southern Miss then scored the next

nine points to take an 11-10 lead. The Cougars regrouped and scored the next five points to win game three,

15-11.

Southern Miss concludes their regular season next weekend with a C-USA series at Memphis, Nov. 13, and at

UAB, Nov. 14.
