Golden Eagle Track Program Adds Two Signees

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss Head Track and Field Coach Wayne Williams announced the signing of Erica Alston of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Hana Prudilova of Olomouc, Czech Republic to national letters of intent for the 2004-05 academic year.

Alston, a 5-2 sprinter and long jumper, attended Barton County Community College in Great Bend, Kan., where she competed in the sprints and long jump. She recorded personal best times of 11.8 in the 100 meters, 7.6 in the 60 meters and posted a best jump of 19'7" in the long jump.

Prudilova, a javelin thrower, has recorded a personal best throw of 145'3" in the javelin. She was a two-time national champion in 2000 and 2002 while placing second in 2001 and third in 2003. She finished second at the International championships in 2000, while finishing third in 2001 and fourth in 2002.
