OXFORD, Miss. -- Southern Miss' men's and women's outdoor track teams recorded at least two record-setting performances in a rain-shorten Ole Miss Open, on Saturday.
Cassandra Goodson recorded a school record time in the 5,000 meters with a time of 17:45.81, finishing first. Becca Wiseman finished second in the steeplechase with a school record time of 11:12.77. Kate Juedes finished eighth in the javelin with a throw of 114’3”. Lydiah Chepkwony finished eighth in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:47.05.
Conrad Chanove had a season-best throw of 214’10” in the javelin and finishing first followed by teammate Jeb Meschke with a throw of 194’4”. Marvin Lucas finished sixth with a throw of 180’8”.
Southern Miss will take a week off before traveling to Louisville, Ky., for the Conference USA Outdoor Championship, May 14-15.
