HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Freshman Tanika Liburd was named Conference USA Athlete of the Week for her performance in the long jump.

Liburd, a native of Charleston, Nevis, finished first in the long jump at the Alabama Relays. She posted a regional qualifying mark and conference-best mark of 20’5". Liburd’s top performance helped the Lady Eagles to a fourth-place showing at the Alabama Relays, their first scoring meet of the outdoor season. She also finished first in the season-opening Southern Miss Invitational with a mark of 19’4".
