HOUSTON, Texas -- The Golden Eagles travel to Houston for the Bayou City Classic a little short-handed. Several athletes turned in season-best performances. The Golden Eagles posted first-place finish, recording a time of 12:45.40 in the distance medley relay. The 4x400 meter relay team grabbed a second-place finish with a time of 3:55.40. Tiffany Hubbard posted a season-best mark in the high jump with a jump of 5'4.50". Ashley May finished eighth in the long jump with a mark of 5.71m, and followed that with a second-place finish in the triple jump of 12.20m. Kirsten Richards recorded a season-best time in the 400 meters with a time of 1:00.21. Jemarie Alcordo ran a season-best time of 5:23.61 in the one-mile, while Parris Hodges and Ronna Sandoval posted season-best times of 10:55.36 and 12:02.90, respectively, in the 3,000 meters. Rushae Collier turned in a season-best mark of 15.62m in the weight throw and 11.53m in the shot. Candace Burgard posted a season-best mark of 10.58 in the weight throw. Southern Miss will compete in the LSU Twilight Invitational, Feb. 22
