Women's Tennis Team Picks Up Five Wins in Doubles at Stony Brook Invitational

STONY BROOK, N.y. -- - The Southern Miss women's tennis team pounded out five wins in the doubles' competition at the Stony Brook Invitational, Friday. Stephanie Dellocono and Lauren Gutterman downed Jessica Shurtz and Jessica Ahn (Army), 8-4, at No. 1 doubles. Ali Blackett and Shannon Rogers knocked off Robie Verano and Annie Hang (Army), 8-5, at No. 2. Natalia Parrado and Zoe Lee concluded the doubles with an 8-6 win over Jurelle Mendoza and Christine Limsiaco (Army), at No. 3 doubles. Playing at No. 1 doubles, Dellocono and Gutterman won their second match of the day, defeating Paola Rodolfi and Sandy Wijerathe (Stony Brook), 8-5. Blackett and Rogers also won their second match, posting an 8-3 win over Erica Federgreen and Victoria Vovsha, 8-3, at No. 3. Sherry Price and Zoe Lee dropped a close match to Claudia Sauna and Brooke Flanigan (Stony Brook), 8-6, at No. 2 doubles. The Lady Eagles returns to action on Saturday with singles' play. Results
