Southern Miss Soccer Team Finishes Fifth in Conference USA With Best-Ever Conference Record
the Lady Eagle soccer team, few people expected such impressive results in

his first season. After a poor 2-5 start, the Lady Eagles caught on fire and

finished out the season by going 7-3 for a 9-8-0 regular season overall

record and a 6-5-0 record in C-USA play.

The Lady Eagles finished fifth in the conference, their highest finish ever,

and placed two players on the all-conference teams. Stacey Hall (Sr., F,

Portadown, Northern Ireland) was named to the All-C-USA second team, and

Tricia Wiles (So., F, Germantown, Tennessee) was selected to the third team.

Hall finished the season with 35 points. She scored 12 goals and set a

new Southern Miss school record with 11 assists. She was in the top three in

every offensive category in the conference and finished the season ranked

10th in the nation in assists per game (0.73 apg) and 13th in points per game

(2.33 ppg).

Wiles tied her own school record of assists in a game (3) twice this

season. She had a trio of assists in the wins over Louisville and DePaul.

She was sixth in the conference in assists with eight.

Clark garnered his 100th career win when the Lady Eagles downed UAB 3-2.

He also became the first Southern Miss coach to post a winning record in

conference play and the first to have a winning season in his first season

while playing a C-USA schedule. Hall, Samantha Miller, Hope Herron, Ashleigh

DeHuff and Souhaila McReynolds were the first five players to complete four

years of play on the Southern Miss soccer team. The five players were part

of the original group of players that started the program in 1997.
