Early Goals Propel Women's Soccer to 4-0 Win Over DePaul
10 minutes of each half to score a 4-0 win over DePaul on Sunday afternoon.

Southern Miss (8-7-0, 5-5-0) wasted no time getting on the board as

Tricia Wiles scored her third goal of the season thanks to a great pass from

Stacey Hall in the fifth minute of the match to give the Lady Eagles a quick

1-0 lead. Hall and Wiles teamed up again on the second goal with a pair of

passes to Katie Adams who found the net for a 2-0 Lady Eagle lead. The lead

would remain 2-0 at the end of the first half.

Southern Miss scored first goal of the second half only five minutes into

the half when Wiles found Hall open in the box. Hall beat DePaul (3-13-0,

2-8-0) goalkeeper Lauren Geiger for her 10th goal of the season. Hall scored

just five minutes later thanks to an assists by Wiles to seal Southern Miss'

4-0 win.

"This was a great win for us today," said Southern Miss Head Coach Matt

Clark. "We had to bounce back from the 5-1 loss to Marquette on Friday and

we did just that. It's a testament to how hard these young ladies will work

to succeed. The defense was outstanding and the offense was explosive and

capitalized on mistakes. It's a great win going into next weekend's match

with Tulane."

The Lady Eagles return to action on Friday, October 22, when they host

conference foe Tulane at the Southern Miss Soccer Complex in a 3 p.m. match.

The winner of the match will be the fifth seed i nthe C-USA tournament which

will be held November 1-4, in St. Louis.
