Southern Miss Closes Out Home Schedule; Time Change For Sunday's Match Against UTEP

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- - The Southern Miss women's soccer team closes out the home portion of its schedule, hosting Colorado College on Friday and UTEP on Sunday. Friday's match against Colorado College begins at 4 p.m., while Sunday's match against UTEP has been rescheduled for an earlier time. The original time was 1 p.m., but due to travel restraints for UTEP, the match was moved to 12 p.m. Both matches will be played at the Southern Miss Track and Field and Soccer Complex located off 4th Street. Southern Miss heads into the weekend series with a 6-7-0 overall record and 2-2 in league play. Junior Sarah McFadden continues to lead the team with five goals on the season. She also has two assists and 12 points. Senior Megan Kolts leads the team in assists with four, while recording two goals. Colorado College (6-4-2, 1-2) is led by Emily Beans with six goals, followed by Tiffany Brown with five goals. This is the first meeting between the two schools in women's soccer. UTEP heads into the weekend with a 9-4-1 record and 3-0-0 in league play, following a 3-2 win over Colorado College. Tameka Sumter has scored a league-leading 10 goals, while teammate Cortney Casey has tallied eight. UTEP won last year's meeting, 1-0. Five Lady Eagles - Anna Fiser, Erin Bunyard, Katie Hall, Megan Kolts and Jackie Ryan - will be recognized in Senior Day ceremonies. Following the weekend series, Southern Miss hits the road for matches at Memphis (Oct. 26) and UAB (Oct. 28).
