Southern Miss Soccer Defeats Mississippi Valley, Remains Undefeated

HATTIESBURG, Miss - The Southern Miss soccer team remained undefeated, as it defeated Mississippi Valley, 5-0, to run its record to 5-0-1 on the season. MVSU dropped to 0-6.

The Lady Eagles scored four goals in the first half, and padded the lead with a second half goal.

Katie Randolph started the scoring with a goal at the 10 minute mark. Lauren Prewitt scored the first of her two goals just two minutes later off an assist from Katie McClary. McClary's goal came seven minutes later during the 19 minute mark.

Prewitt's second goal of the match, and third of the season came during the 21- minute mark. The Lady Eagles final goal came at the 67 minute mark from freshman Sarah Brennan. It was her second goal of the season.

Emma O'Conner led Mississippi Valley with three shots.

Anna Snyder collected three saves for Southern Miss, while Valley goalkeeper Natasha Mcfadden finished with 20 saves.

Southern Miss returns to action Friday at Saint Louis, in the Conference USA opener for both schools. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
