Lady Eagles Kick Off Spring Season Against Baton Rouge Red Star

Hattiesburg, Miss. -- After ending with a 9-8 overall record and

best-ever

Conference USA finish last season, the Southern Miss women's

soccer team

hits the field again in the first spring match of the season.

The Lady Eagles take on the Baton Rouge Red Star club team at 1

p.m.,

Saturday, at the Marshall Bell Track and Soccer Complex on West

4th street.

Leading Southern Miss are returning All-Conference USA selection

Tricia

Wiles and forward Lindsay Canham.

Wiles, who ranked in the top five of every scoring category for

the Lady

Eagles in 2000, was tabbed as a Third Team All-CUSA selection.

Canham

returns as the leading scorer for Southern Miss, after netting

nine goals

and two assists last season.

The match will be the first spring playing date for the Lady

Eagles.
