Huntington, W.V. - The Southern Miss women's golf team shot a 309 to sit two-shots off the lead in second place at the Lady Herd Fall Classic. The tournament is hosted by Marshall University and is played at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course.

Sophomore Virginia Espejo is currently tied for the lead with Anna Camtell of Cincinnati after shooting a one-over 73.

Senior Heather Golden is tied for sixth-place after shooting a 77. Junior Samantha Holt finished with a 78 to tie for 12th-place. Junior Clara Viladomiu is in a tie for 20th after shooting an 81, while senior Kate Burns shot an 88 to tie for 51st-place.

Cincinnati leads the team competition with 307 strokes, with Southern Miss sitting in second with 309. Towson and Ohio are tied for third-place with 316 strokes. Host-school Marshall sits in fifth-place with 318 strokes, followed by Radford with 319.

Austin Peay is in seventh-place after shooting a first-round 320. Morehead State sits in eight-place with 330. Florida Gulf Coast finished with 333 strokes for a ninth-place finish, followed by Cleveland State (355), Ohio Valley (375) and Concord (407).

The tournament concludes tomorrow with the final 18. Play tees-off with an 8 a.m. shot gun start.
