El Paso, Texas - Southern Miss sophomore Clara Viladomiu shot an even-par 72 to lead the Lady Eagles after Round One of the Conference USA Championships. The tournament is being held at Butterfield Trail Golf Club in El Paso, Texas.

Viladomiu is tied with Tulsa's Leisl Hasbrouck and Jaime Brabb of UAB at even par to lead the individual competition.

Freshman Virginia Espejo shot a three-over 75 to sit in a tie for eighth place. Sophomore Rebecka Nilsson recorded a four-over 76 to tie for 14th-place.

Sophomore Samantha Holt sits in a tie for 26th-place after shooting a six-over 78. Freshman Jennifer Judge rounded out the scoring for Southern Miss, shooting an 86 to sit in 42nd-place.

The Lady Eagles are leading the team competition with a first round score of 301 strokes, two shots ahead of UCF, East Carolina and UTEP, who all finished with 303 strokes. Tulsa sits in fifth place with 304 strokes, and UAB is in sixth with 306. SMU is in seventh with 308, while Memphis (309) and Marshall (316) close out the scoring.

The championship continues tomorrow with Round Two, beginning at 8:30 a.m. (CT).
