Gainesville, Fla. - Sophomore Samantha Holt shot a 77 to sit in a tie for 11th-place after two days of the Gainesville Shootout III in Gainesville, Fla. The tournament is being hosted by the University of Florida and played at the Mark Bostick Golf Course. Freshman Virginia Espejo also shot a 77 to tie for 35th-place. Freshman Jennifer Judge shot a nine-over par 79 to sit in a tie for 39th-place. Sophomore Rebecka Nilsson and junior Heather Golden round out the Lady Eagles by shooting rounds of 82 and 91 to sit in 67th and a tie for 76th, respectively. Alex Rankin of Wofford shot a two-under 68 to lead the individual competition. Illinois' Raquel Hopton is in second after shooting an even-par 70, and Nicole Schachner of Florida is in third after a second round 77. Michigan leads the team scoring with 611 strokes. Texas State is in second with 614 strokes, while Illinois is in third with 615 strokes. Illinois State sits in fourth with 617, and Wofford is in fifth with 622. Texas A&M-Chorpus Christi is in sixth with 623, followed by Louisiana-Monroe (627) and Iowa (631) West Florida is in ninth (633) followed by a tie for tenth with Nevada and Southern Miss at 637. Appalachian State is in 12th (643), followed by Troy and UT-Pan American (644) and Albany (692). Southern Miss closes out the tournament tomorrow. The final round begins with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m.
