Women's Golf Ends Lady Jaguar Invitational Tied For 12th
March 6, 2007 HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss shot a final-round team score of 309, Tuesday, to finish tied for 12th in the 20-team, 36-hole Lady Jaguar Invitational being played at the Azalea City Golf Course in Mobile, Ala. Freshman Samantha Holt (Pensacola, Fla.) shot a final-round 73 to finish with a 153 and a 27th-place tie. Sophomore Heather Golden (Biloxi, Miss.) and junior Jennifer Bodemann (Palm City, Fla.) each fired a 79 over the final 18 hole to post a 156 and a 44th-place tie and a 157 and a 53th-place tie, respectively. Clara Viladomiu, who joined the team during the spring semester, also tallied a 79 for a 158 and 58th-place tie, while freshman Rebecka Nilsson recorded a 78 for a 159 total and 63rd-place tie. Taryn Durham of Middle Tennessee, who collected a final-round 68, posted a two-under 142 for the tournament to win the individual medalist honors. The Blue Raiders had team-low rounds both days, including a 292 in the final 18 holes to win the event with a 591, bettering No. 2 Jacksonville State by 14 strokes. Following JSU in the team scoring was Lamar and Winthrop (606), Belmont (609), Florida Atlantic (610), Arkansas State and McNeese State (614), host South Alabama (615), Louisiana-Monroe (618), UAB (619), Samford, Southern Miss and Western Carolina (623), Troy (624), Mercer (625), Nicholls State (627), Austin Peay (639) and Centenary and Jackson State (641). The Lady Eagles return to action in Tampa, Fla., at the Waterlefe Invitational, March 19-20, hosted by USF. Southern Miss Finishers
