Southern Miss Lady Eagles Head to Conference USA Tournament Seeded No. 9
Southern Miss enters the Conference USA Womens Basketball Tournament, presented by Kohls and Nike, seeded No. 9. Southern Miss meets DePaul, No. 8 seed, in first round action, on Friday, Mar. 2, at 1 p.m., in the U.S. Cellular Arena. The winner of the game will face the top seed, Louisville, on Saturday, Mar. 3, at 1 p.m. The Lady Eagles concluded their regular season, losing 84-45, at Tulane on Feb. 22. Victoria Mason, the only Lady Eagle scoring in double-figures, led Southern Miss with 14 points. Mason also pulled down five rebounds. DePaul concluded its regular season with a 60-52 win over Saint Louis, Feb. 25. Lenae Williams and Candis Blankson led the Blue Demons with 12, and 11 points, respectively. Blankson also had seven rebounds. The Blue Demons defeated Southern Miss, 75-62, on Feb. 2, at DePaul. Louisville is coming off a 70-57 win at Cincinnati, Feb. 24, in their season finale. Sara Nord led the Lady Cards with a double-double, 26 points and 10 rebounds. Kara Kessans and Janelle Antoine added 12, and 11 points, respectively.
