Southern Miss Closes Out the Regular Season at Tulane on Thursday

Southern Miss closes out the regular season at Tulane on Thursday, Feb. 22. The Lady Eagles will try to snap a four-game losing streak. The streak is longest of the season.

The Lady Eagles (12-14, 5-10) are coming off a 73-58 loss to Memphis on Sunday, Feb. 18. Victoria Mason led the Lady Eagles in scoring with 15 points, followed by Krystal Courtney and Angela Johnson with 11 points, each, and Jessica Woods added 10 points.

Tulane is 18-9 overall and 11-4 in conference play, following a, 71-62, overtime win against UAB on Sunday, Feb. 18. Janell Burse led the Green Wave with 22 points, Sarah Goree had 15, and Britt Themann added 12 points.

Southern Miss leads the series with Tulane, 27-17, in a series that dates back to the 1976-77 season. Tulane has won eight of the last 10 meetings, including a 72-65, win in Hattiesburg, on Jan. 2.

Following the game, both teams head to the Conference USA Tournament, Mar. 2-5, in Milwaukee, Wis. Tulane has clinched a first-round bye in the tournament.
