Southern Miss women's basketball coach Joye Lee-McNelis announced Thursday the signing of 6-foot-2 post player Ashley Martin (Memphis, Tenn.) for the 2008-09 season.

Southern Miss Ends Season With 59-45 Loss To Michigan
Southern Miss briefly took a two-point lead, 27-25, following a three-point play by Andrea Barber with 14:44 remaining in the game, then, over the next nine minutes, the Lady Eagles were out scored 18-0 as Michigan came away with a 59-45 win Thursday night in the third round of the WNIT at the Crisler Arena.
