Brooke Stoehr begins her first season with the Lady Eagle Basketball program. Her responsibilities include recruiting, assisting in all aspects of the Lady Eagle basketball camps, on-the-court coaching while working with primarily with the perimeter players, scouting opponents and film breakdown, as well as coordinating the mentor program and writing the monthly Lady Eagle Hoop Scoop.

Stoehr comes to Southern Miss after spending the last three seasons as an assistant coach at Louisiana Tech, where her primary duties included serving as the academic counselor, recruiting with an emphasis in Arkansas and Louisiana, scouting reports, guard development, summer camps and overseeing the Lady Techster weight and conditioning program.

While at Tech, Stoehr was instrumental in the development of the Louisiana Tech guards, which included three All-Western Athletic Conference selections in 2005-06 and the WAC Player of the Year in 2006-07. She also helped Louisiana Tech claim back-to-back WAC regular season titles as well as the program's 25th straight NCAA Tournament appearance.

Prior to returning to Tech, Stoehr was a member of Joe Foley's staff at Arkansas-Little Rock for two years along with her husband, Scott, who also was an assistant coach on the Lady Techster staff.

Over those two seasons, UALR won 10 games in both 2003-04 and 2004-05, the highest win totals since the rebirth of the Trojans program in 2000. Stoehr was instrumental in helping sign back-to-back Sun Belt Conference Freshmen of the Year in Renee Renz and Kim Sitzmann.

While at UALR, Stoehr assisted with coaching guards, helped with recruiting, supervised preseason individual conditioning workouts and aided the summer basketball camps.

Prior to her time at UALR, Stoehr served as a graduate assistant coach at Florida State under Sue Semrau, where she performed similar duties.

Following an outstanding prep career at Hamburg High School in Arkansas where she was named to the Parade All-American team and was the Arkansas and Southwest Region Gatorade Player of the Year, Stoehr signed with the Lady Techsters. While donning the Louisiana Tech uniform from 1998-2002, Stoehr served as a two-year captain and starting two guard as a junior and senior while leading the Lady Techsters to an impressive mark of 119-16.

She was instrumental in leading Tech to four NCAA Tournament appearances, including the 1999 Final Four and two more Elite Eight appearances.

During her playing days, Tech won four regular season conference titles and conference tournament titles while only losing one conference game. The 2001 All-Sun Belt Conference selection ended her college career ranked as the NCAA Division I all-time career free throw percentage leader at 91.5, hitting 268-of-292 attempts. As a senior, Stoehr was named an NCAA post-graduate scholarship finalist (2002), WAC All-Academic (2002), NCAA Woman of the Year nominee (2002), Verizon Academic All-District VI (2002) and National Strength and Conditioning Association All-American (2002).

Stoehr earned her bachelor's degree from Louisiana Tech in business administration in 2002 and her master's degree in sports administration from Florida State in 2004. She is the daughter of Bill and Charlotte Lassiter.
