Dupuy comes to Southern Miss after spending the last four seasons as a teacher and coach at the high school level, including the last two spent at Oak Grove High School. He taught government and economics and was an assistant coach for the boys' and girls' basketball teams and fastpitch softball at Oak Grove. During his tenure, he was instrumental in helping the girls' basketball team record their first 20-win season in several years. Prior to joining the high school ranks, Dupuy worked with the Golden Eagle men's basketball program for six seasons as a manager, graduate assistant and director of basketball operations. As director of operations, his duties included travel, overseeing the managers, monitoring academic progress as well as assisting in film exchange and scouting. Dupuy was a two-year letterman and captain of his senior-year team at Catholic High School, where he also compiled a 3.7 grade point average. He also served as a volunteer assistant coach for two summers at his alma mater. The Baton Rouge, La., native received his bachelor's degree in coaching and sport administration in 2002 and a master's degree in 2003 from Southern Miss. |
