Golden Eagle Track and Field Teams Post Improvements at the LSU Alumni Gold
April 22, 2007 BATON ROUGE, La. -- - The track and field teams competed at the 2007 LSU Alumni Gold, with several performers posting improved times and marks. Tanika Liburd finished second in the long jump, recording a jump of 21'8.75", but the jump was wind-aided. Aaliyah Shareef recorded an improvement in the triple jump with a mark of 41'0.25", also wind aided. Carmen Dennis ran a time of 57.58 in the 400 meters and Jamaka Wall ran a time of 57.70, improving their times on the season. Ronna Sandoval improved her time in the 5,000 meters when she ran a time of 19:13.02. Ashley Reyer recorded a time of 14.54 in the 100-meter hurdles for an improvement. Lyndon Modeste and Devan House lowered their times in the 100 meters with times of 11.23 and 11.44, respectively. Cordell Kinn recorded a time of 47.54 in the 400 meters, marking an improvement. Cornelius Duncan recorded the squad's best time in the 800 meters with a time of 1:51.74, while Marvin Pinnock also improved his time in the event as well with a time of 1:52.58. Vincent Tanui ran a time of 3:51.34 in the 1,500 meters, posting the team's best time. Frederick Baldwin recorded a time of 55.07 in the 400-meter hurdles for an improvement. Southern Miss returns to competition on April 25-28 at the Drake Relays.
