HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss men's and women's outdoor track and field teams recorded 15 first-place finishes in the Golden Eagle Classic Friday, highlighted by regional qualifying marks by Cornelius Duncan and Noah Slater.

Duncan a double winner in the 200 and 400 meters, recorded a time of 46.36 in the 400 for a regional qualifying time. He ran 21.74, finishing first in the 200 meters. He also anchored the 4x400 meter relay that finished second with a time of 3:16.57.

Slater finished first in the javelin with a throw of 209'8", also a region qualifying mark.

JorDon was tops in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.15. Cordell Kinn finished second in the 400 meters with a time of 48.59. Danny Banks turned a time of 12.14 in the 100 meters, while Daniel Dir recorded a time of 16.72 for fifth-place. Dir also finished second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.23.

The 4x100-meter relay team ran a time of 41.87 for a first-place. Myron Sartin and Leonard McLeggon recorded heights of 6'4" and 6'2", respectively in the high jump. Jamal Port finished second in the triple jump with a jump of 42'2.25" for second.

Richardo Page and Aaron Ammons finished third and fourth, respectively, with marks of 51'0" and 49'3" in the shot. Page followed that with a fifth-place finish in the discus with a throw of 148'1". Ammons finished fifth in the hammer with a throw of 132'3".

The women's team turned in equally impressive times and marks on the day.

Chastity Riggien was the top finisher in the 100 meters with a time of 12.20, while teammate Romesha Anderson was second with a time of 12.58.

Anderson finished first in the 200 meters with a time of 25.42. Terria Wheeler finished fourth in the 200 with a time of 26.27. Cheris Fletcher ran a time of 2:19.20 in the 800 meters, while Lesheika Dinkins finished fourth with a time of 2:30.27. Zuna Portillo was second in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:55.38, followed by Gerrelaine Alcordo and Ronna Sandoval finishing with times of 5:29.25 and 5:30.41.

Carmen Dennis, Stephanie Jones-DuBose and Jamaka Wall finished fifth, sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 400 meters. They posted times of 56.53, 59.47 and 1:01.36.

Parris Hodges recorded a time of 18:27.36 in the 5,000 meters, placing first. The 4x100 meter relay team ran 46.73 to finish first. The 4x400 meter team finished second with a time of 3:56.69.

Ashley May was a double winner in the long jump and triple jump. She recorded a jump of 18'7.75" in the long jump, then, followed with a jump of 39'4" in the triple jump. Simona Costache was second in the triple jump with a jump of 38'5" and Jessica Cheeks was fourth with a jump of 37'6.50".

Suesanna Williams had two first-place finishes in the shot and hammer with marks of 42'4.75" and 170'11", respectively. Candace Burgard was third with a throw of 38'11.75" in the shot and Rushae Collier was fourth with a throw of 37'6.50".

Collier finished third in the hammer with a throw of 146'5" and Burgard was fifth with a throw of 127".

Hana Prudilova just missed a regional qualifying mark in the javelin with a throw of 139'6". Jessica Bussey was sixth with a throw of 126'8" and recorded a throw of 94'7" in the discus.
