HAMMOND, La. - Southern Miss' Patricio Alvarado advanced to the second round of the ITF USA F26 Futures Main Draw, posting a 6-2, 6-1 win over Tommy Garrison of Oklahoma.

Alvarado will play Luis-Manuel Flores, who played No. 2 singles for the Georgia Bulldogs national championship teams in 2007 and 2008.
