Men's Tennis Team Has Good Showing in the Georgia Tech Fall Invitational

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Southern Miss men's tennis team recorded six match wins that included three wins in doubles and singles Friday in the Georgia Tech Fall Invitational.

Patricio Alvarado recorded a 7-5, 6-4, over Charlie Jones (Vanderbilt) in the A Draw round of 32. Markus Wessinghage defeated Kyle Wishing (MTSU), 6-3, 7-6 (7), while Felipe Sylva knocked off William Adeimy of GSU, 6-0, 6-0, in the B Draw.

Strate Krstevski and Wessinghage won their first doubles' match, 8-5, over Dusan Miljevic and Austin Roebuck (Georgia Tech), before losing in the quarterfinals, 8-3, to Javier Garrapiz and Varela Josh (Georgia).

Alvarado and Sylva advanced to the semifinals, posting an 8-4 win over Hunter Mills and Powell Porter (Auburn) and 8-6 over Michael Pereira and Ryan Ybarra (UNC Wilmington).

The Golden Eagles continue play Saturday.
