BATON ROUGE, La. -- - No. 21 LSU swept the Southern Miss men's tennis team, 7-0, Sunday afternoon at the Paula G. Manship YMCA.

Southern Miss falls to 2-3 on the season, while LSU improved to 3-0.

The Tigers earned the doubles' point, winning all three doubles matches. Domagoi Anic and Callen Fraychineaud lost to Kevin Dessauer and Jan Zelezny, 8-1. Diego and Oscar Machuca lost to Danny Bryan and Colt Gaston at No. 2 doubles, 8-2. No. 3 ranked James Cluskey and Ken Skupski defeated Strate Krstevski and Andrew Poole, 8-2, at No. 1 doubles.

The Tigers took their momentum into singles play, posting wins one-thru-6 singles.

Dessauer won the first singles' match at No. 4 with a 6-0, 6-0, win over Diego Machuca. No. 9 ranked Skupski downed Poole, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 1. Jan Zelezny handed Fraychineaud a 6-1, 6-1, loss at No. 5 singles. No. 68 ranked Danny Bryan defeated Oscar Machuca, 6-2, 6-1. Rounding out the wins for LSU was James Cluskey defeating Wren Hood at No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-1 and Gaston defeated Anic, 6-2, 6-3.

Southern Miss returns to action when the Golden Eagles travel to Birmingham, Ala., to play UAB, Feb. 17.
