Men's Golf Leads Sam H. Hall Intercollegiate After Two Rounds HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss men's golfer Kyle Ramey shot a seven-under par 135 over the first two rounds to lead the Golden Eagles to a one-shot lead in the Sam Hall Intercollegiate, being played at Cranebreak Country Club. Ramey had rounds of 67 and 68 to tie for second place with New Orleans' Jose Toledo and David McKendrick of Louisiana-Monroe. Derek Plucienski, playing as an individual and not part of the team scoring, is tied for seventh at three under par 139 after rounds of 67 and 72. Rob Hudson, also playing as an individual, shot a one under 141 (72-69), which put him in a 12th-place tie. Paul Apyan and Wes Carter are tied for 17th-place. Apyan shot rounds of 70 and 73 and Carter tallied rounds of 69 and 74, for a total of 143. Alex Park posted rounds of 71 and 73 for a two-over 144 to tie for 23rd-place, while Tyler Sparks shot 71-74 for a three-over 145 and a 30th-place tie. Rocky Cleland wrapped up the scoring for Southern Miss, posting rounds of 75-72 (145) for 42nd-place. Southern Miss (277-286) leads the team scoring with 563 overall strokes. UAB (282-282) is a stroke behind with 564 strokes, while Jacksonville State (282-283) sits in third with 565 strokes. St. John's (284-283) is in fourth at 567, followed by Louisiana-Monroe (283-287) at 570, Kennesaw State (288-285) at 573, New Orleans (287-288) at 575, Troy (290-289) at 579, Rhode Island (293-286) at 579, Louisiana Tech (294-288) at 582 and Illinois State (286-300) at 586. Gonzalo Berlin of Jacksonville State leads the tournament by three strokes. Berlin opened with a 67, and then bettered that in the second round by firing a 65 for a total 132. The tournament finishes up Tuesday morning with the final 18. Play begins at 7:30 a.m. from the No. 1 and No. 10 holes.
