HATTISBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss Head Men's Basketball Coach Larry Eustachy has announced the signing of Rodney McCauley to a national letter-of-intent for the 2008-09 academic year.

McCauley, a 6-5 shooting guard out of Dallas, Texas, will join the Golden Eagles for the 2008-09 school year.

This past year, McCauley averaged 11 points and seven rebound for God's Academy (TX) Prep. He was also the 2006-07 District 15-3A Co-Offensive Player of the Year while at Gladewater High School.

McCauley chose Southern Miss over TCU.

He becomes the fifth member of the 2008-09 signing class, joining Andre Jackson (Dallas, Texas), who signed in the fall, Corey Smith (Pleasant Grove, Ala.), LaVanne Pennington (San Bernardino, Calif.) and Jerome Clyburn (Orange Park, Fla.).
