Limited Space Still Available for Two Baseball Camps This Summer

The Southern Miss baseball coaches and players will conduct a kids instructional camp and high school showcase this summer and limited space is still available for both camps.

 

The Kids Day Camp will take place July 14-17 at Pete Taylor Park from 9:00 a.m. until noon each day for kids ages 6-13. Each camper will receive instruction in throwing, hitting, fielding, and base running from the Golden Eagles coaches and players.

 

The high school showcase is scheduled for July 19 at Pete Taylor Park for High School athletes that graduate in 2008, 2009, 2010, or 2011. Athletes will have the opportunity to show their skills to professional scouts and coaches from Division I, II, and III, NAIA and junior colleges.

Kids Day Camp

July 14th - 17th

9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Ages 6 - 13

$135.00 ($75.00 deposit) 

*** Every camper will receive instruction in throwing, hitting, fielding, and base running 

*** All instruction will be provided by the Southern Miss coaching staff and players 

*** Each camper will be provided with one camp t-shirt 

*** Players are grouped by age and ability and all levels are welcome.

 

High School Showcase Camp

July 19th

Grades 9 - 12 (08, 09, 10, 11 Grad years)

12:00 pm - 6:00 pm

$110.00 ($50.00 deposit) 

*** Timed 60 yard dash to test foot speed

*** Throwing by position (Each throw will be clocked)

*** Batting Practice

*** Division I, II, and III, NAIA, and JC coaches and Professional Scouts in attendance

*** Format:

    Outfield - Field 5-6 fly balls & groundballs & make throws to 3B and Home

    Infield - Field 5-6 groundballs showing range and arm strength

     First Base - Field (in total) 5 or 6 groundballs

     Catcher - Will make 2-3 throws to 2B/3B

     Pitcher - 12 - 15 Pitches from Windup and Stretch

*** Instruction will be offered in the areas of hitting, arm rehabilitation, and strength and conditioning
