Why We Give
Athletics provides a unique opportunity to bring alumni, family and friends back to Hattiesburg and get them reconnected to Southern Miss. At the same time, it provides national exposure for The University and attracts students and others to this city, strengthening the school and the surrounding area. It is an investment that is already paying dividends and will continue to do so for years to come.

My time at Southern Miss was very special. I came as a walk-on, so the financial burden made things tough. When I earned a scholarship, it not only erased the money worries but also gave me tremendous pride that the school and it's people believed so strongly in me. Contributing to the Eagle Club gives me a chance to ease a young athlete's financial concerns and help make his or her academic and athletic dreams come true.

The growth of athletics has provided opportunities for many young men and women to pursue academic goals while continuing to compete in the sports they love. It wasn't that long ago that a lot of these opportunities didn't exist, and we want to make sure that they continue to expand at Southern Miss. With every dollar from the Eagle Club going to scholarships, we know we can make this happen with our continued support.
